A self-help book for reducing stress, building coping, and measuring your resilience.
In my many years conducting stress management workshops, I created several handouts for attendees to help them better understand their current sources of life stress, how to modify stress effects, and offering sugestions for building their coping resources. I've now put these several teachings into a slim book entitled: "Paths to Health and Resilience." This book incorporates my Brief Stres and Coping Invertory (BSCI). Each of the BSCI's five stress indicators and five coping capabilities are presented in separate chapters, along with supporting text, key references, and important exercises.
A summary chapter determines a person's current balance between stress and coping in their life. This is a measure of their risk for near-future illness versus near-futher health and resilience.
